![]() My heart is glowing. On July 28th, my daughter and I were doing our Bible time together and the devotion was about trusting in Jesus through hard times. We talked in length how life can sometimes bring us bad times, but Jesus is there to rescue us. We also talked how sometimes we can be the ones who makes the bad choices that hurts ourselves and others. Zoey asked me where do people go when they keep bad choices. So as a strong single momma, I lovingly told my six year old daughter the gift of Jesus, how he was born, lived, and died just for her. Zoey began to tell me how she is sorry when she makes bad choices, and how she wanted Jesus in her heart. In that moment, I felt like the most blessed woman in the world. To be able to pass on my faith and to be the one to lead her was a moment. Mark 10:13-16 says: "People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them." God has a special place for children. For her to understand and accept Jesus as a child is a blessing. Although COVID-19 has brought a lot of unknowns, it brings me even more peace knowing she has the same peace as I do. Although we know that this is just the beginning, and living a Christian life is not easy, it will give her an ultimate peace while living this world of ups and downs. I can not wait to see her journey unfold! |
